The Ferentillo mummies are very unusual and are of national and international interest; in fact, visitors come from all over Europe to see them.

It is the one and only phenomenon of its kind.

The mummification is entirely natural, due to particular micro-organisms found in the soil and climate conditions in the area where they are buried.

There is an excursion centre in Arrone called “the School of Mountain Biking”. There are many possible excursions favoured by the excellent position of the centre: cross charming paths in the heart of the Valnerina or on one of the many historical-artistic itineraries like Spoleto, Norcia and Cascia.

The centre has a large parking, a park on the banks of the river with tables and fireplaces, which are ideal for relaxing and picnics, changing rooms for men and women, a mountain bike wash and small workshop for quick repairs.
